Design thinking. Is an out of the box approach to solving problems.

The following characteristics of design thinking are just a few ways to further understand the process and methodology behind our practice.

How do we get out of "the box"?

Design Thinking is

Being action oriented.

Hands-On-Approach, Learning by doing, Getting out there and getting dirty, Not being afraid to talk to individuals about applies learning experiences.

What is design thinking?

"Design thinking can be described as a discipline that uses the designer’s sensibility and methods to match people’s needs with what is technologically feasible and what a viable business strategy can convert into customer value and market opportunity."

2009, Tim Brown of IDEO

Design Thinking is

Finding comfort in change.

Doing away with old assumptions, conventional rolls, and existing comfort zones to explore through new approaches to problem solving.

Design Thinking is

Human centered design.

People have needs. Designing with those needs in mind leads to new discoveries of unknown needs. How do we do this? Design thinkers are observant, and utilize thoughtful listening techniques to learn about customers and clients. Addressing milestones and connecting to the process a person is going threw. Design thinkers have learned to relate.

Design Thinking is

Infused with foresight

Operating in foresight is hard work. It takes discipline imagination and the ability to look down the road with a thoughtful eye towards planning for the future. Designing with foresight in mind invites us to explore uncertainties in new marketplaces not commonly researched. Working with unknowns requires the ability to be comfortable in the dark and to cope with in limited information knowing that a tangible outcome is just around the corner.

Design Thinking is an

Effective & progressive

approach to process.

A truly dynamic and constructive approach to process seems never ending to most. To a design thinker however, they understand that the incremental process of definition and redefinition, ideation and re-ideation, presentation and re-presentation is required to achieve powerful and dynamic results.

Design Thinking is

Empathy focused.

Empathy focused thinking places people in the center. Their lives and what drives them surround this core. Empathy focused thinking zeros in on the specific values, insights, and behaviors required to understand people better so as to improve their lives.

Design Thinking

Leverages risk reduction.

An all-encompassing approach to how to view projects, past and present, from sketch to launch, factors in on how to successfully minimize risk in the marketplace. Understanding clients needs and listening with a thoughtful ear, not just in business concerns, aids in the effective outcome of process.

Design Thinking can

Craft connection.

Connecting to a person’s hearth threw images and words seem simple enough. Causing them to take action immediately upon impression with an emotional outcome is where the magic resides. This magical space is where design thinking leads. The tools we use guide us to these places of understanding.

Design Thinking can

Herald infinite creativity.

A culture that embraces inspiration and celebrates reflection through visual interaction with people, companies, and a tangible connection to their emotion is a reflection of a design thinking staff. The ability to inspire small and large companies alike with the desire to make the world a better place and reflect the best possible experiences for their users are at the heart of the creative spark used in design thinking.

We pair brand-story and design thinking to get solutions that maximize and encourage consumer brand interaction.

Design Thinking is the

Modern approach to the "new age" of business today.

How do we create a sustainable business advantage through innovation using design thinking? We create sustainable products that people desire. The old adage “It simply works” is not longer acceptable. It must add to our quality of life in a way that we can no longer live without! Design thinking produces products, businesses, and business strategies that we simply cannot live without.

Creativity is just connecting things. When you ask creative people how they did something, they feel a little guilty because they didn't really do it, they just saw something. It seemed obvious to them after a while. That's because they were able to connect experiences they've had and synthesize new things.
